Objectives

Theme 1 - HIV/AIDS

Objective 1: to support activities that promote leadership and coordination of China's response to HIV/AIDS
Objective 2: to support prevention-based activities (including through harm reduction techniques) that address the needs of populations most likely to be exposed to HIV
Objective 3: to strengthen policy related to community based Voluntary Confidential Counselling and Testing (VCCT) and care, treatment and support.

 

Theme 2 - Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID)

Objective 4: to strengthen preparedness planning for emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, including events of regional public health importance
Objective 5: to strengthen public health laboratory networks and systems essential to surveillance for and response to emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases.

 

Theme 3 - Health Systems Strengthening

Objective 6: to support the Government of the People's Republic of China to strengthen rural and urban access to essential health care and other priority aspects of related health policy, planning and management.
