PMC Meeting 3

The 3rd Program Management Committee Meeting of CAIHHP was held at AusAID’s offices in the Australian Embassy, Beijing on 13th November, 2008 via tele-conference. Members of the committee, including Mr. Liu Mingming, the First Secretary of MOFCOM, Ms. Carolyn Bull, the Counsellor of AusAID, Dr. Ren Minghui, Director General of MOH, and Mr. Klaus Klaucke, the Division Director of DoHA took part in the meeting.  Dr. Nie Jiangang and Dr. Michael Fett as Senior Health Advisors, and Mr. Dong Shengli, Facility Manager, participated in the meeting as observers. Other participants included Mr. Grant Morrison, the First Secretary of AusAID, Ms. Cai Linna, Senior Program Officer of AusAID, Mr. Wang Jun, Senior Program Officer of AusAID, Ms. Shao Meng, Program Officer of MOH, and other FMT members.

The progress of CAIHHP and CAHHF were reviewed, and the PMC recognized the achievements made and lessons learnt on CAHHF since the last PMC Meeting.

The PMC discussed and accepted in principle the recommendations in PMRG Aide Memoire.

The PMC also discussed the proposed priority areas and processes for the second round of CAHHF. This responded to proposals submitted by various departments in the China Ministry of Health, and also took note of the changed global economic situation.  The PMC decided to hold a small second round with no open call for proposals, instead inviting qualified agencies to submit proposals on agreed topics.   The PMC also approved the six-month Facility Review and Implementation Plan.
